Procurement spend remains one of the greatest concerns in many mines in Lesotho. Mines are consistantly battling challenges of the supply chain, spanning from procurement, warehousing, freight forwarding, logistics, packaging and clearing activities, all the way until their goods reach their final destinations. Avalanche Solutions relieves our clients all these worries so that they can focus on their core business, which is mining.

We do this in the following manner:
STRATEGIC PROCUREMENT
This function includes the following activities; i) Global Sourcing and Order Management – sourcing globally and opening new channels of supply to our clients, increasing flexibility and product availability; ii) Strategic Purchase Planning and Warehousing – aimed at meeting clients’ demand and achieving best value, including short and long term storage of their goods; iii) inventory management – which entails the management of the flow of goods from the manufacture to the warehouse, and onwards to clients’ facilities.
LOGISTICS
This function includes the following activities: i) packaging and storage services – optimal storage and management of goods for durations determined by our clients; ii) Local and International Logistics – provision of transportation to destinations in Lesotho; iii) Customs Clearing – ensuring timely clearance of goods well in advance in order to guarantee operational continuity for our clients; iv) Warehouse Distribution – provision of customized warehousing solutions to our clients.
GROUPAGE SERVICES
This function includes the following activities: i) International Groupage – consolidation of our clients’ goods in groupage or in full loads as determined by quantities; ii) Freight Forwarding – management of cross-country logistics and observance of different legislative requirements on behalf of our clients; iii) Freight Negotiations – constant monitoring of international oscillations in economic, legal, political, social, environmental and technological exigencies that affect our clients’ costs and therefore negotiate strategically on their behalf; iv) Charter Sourcing – help our clients in instances where they have immediate and special transportation requirements in ensuring delivery of their goods on time.
CONSULTING
This function includes the following activities: i) Information Technology – by using platforms such as One Portal, SAP, Electronic Data Interface (EDI) and connections with other existing client infrastructure, we ensure the global tracking and tracing of cargo in real-time; ii) Project Management – by acting as a single point of contact, we relief our clients the worry of dealing with many players while we take direct management of all subcontractors; iii) Customer Services – by working closely with our clients throughout the supply chain, we are able to manage their changing needs and exceed their expectations; iv) Training – we provide training to our clients on new innovations on their mostly used goods, new services, savings and when and as required.
